This LED Matrix Display 8X8 is a medium sized LED 8X8 Matrix. This display has 64 Red LEDs packed into a 48mm x 48mm dot matrix display.This 8×8 LED matrix module is very useful and low-cost way to add a display in your electronic circuits. It has 16 pins to achieve a different combination of glowing LEDs. It fits properly into any standard solderless breadboard. Exact dimensions of this module are shown in the image below. A light-emitting diode (LED) is a two-lead semiconductor light source. It resembles a basic PN-junction diode, which emits light when activated. When a fitting voltage is applied to the leads, electrons are able to recombine with electron holes within the device, releasing energy in the form of photons. This effect is called electroluminescence, and the color of the light is determined by the energy band gap of the semiconductor.
